FAQ:

Q: How much does your work cost?

A: I bill two different ways for my work, depending on what I’m doing.

For individual commissions, I usually charge by the hour, and my hourly rate ranges from $40 to $60 per hour, depending on the complexity of the work needed. At the beginning of a large project, I’ll give the client a total quote based on how many hours I expect to work. Once that quote is written into the contract, that’s the cost, so there are no surprises.

For film work, I have daily rates and they vary depending on whether I’m shopping, doing organizing and cleaning/maintenance of costumes, or constructing the costumes.

Q: Who pays for materials?

A: The client pays for all materials.

Q: Can you make costumes for people who live far away?

A: I can sometimes accommodate long distance clients. It depends on what I’m making and what materials are being used.  It also depends on the timeline.

Q: Can you make a costume if there’s no sewing pattern for it?

A: Yes! I can create my own sewing patterns from scratch.

~

Q: How long does it take to have a costume made?

A: This depends on the complexity of the costume and on my work availability. It can be anywhere from a few weeks to several months. It’s best to contact me about a commission at least 4 months before you want it finished.
