Bio

Abby has been designing costumes since she was old enough to hold a pencil. As a child, she sketched the characters from her favorite stories and from her imagination, wearing the garments that helped to show who they were. As she grew up and advanced her sewing skills, these costumes began to take shape as real garments and eventually became a career in which she brought other people’s stories and dreams to life through the garments she created. She studied fashion, costume design and history, at several esteemed institutions, and continued her study independently. In more than 20 years of professional costume making, she has been privileged to work with performers of many kinds, though Abby is just as content to create costumes as a form of personal expression for people who simply wish to show their imagination. Whether working one-on-one with other creatives, or as part of a team, telling stories through costumes is more than a career for her; it is a way of life.
